On April 26th of 2002, Mr Bruce Scott payed a visit to the Memorial Park and assisted a cocktail organized for him at the Town Hall by the municipality happy to receive. Indeed, Mr Scott was Minister for Veteran's Affairs in 1998. Under is authority, for example, was building Hamel Monument and its Memorial Park and organized 1998 various commemorations (see section about the ACMP and its inauguration). Invited to the Anzac Day ceremonies in Fouilloy Memorial and Villers-Bretonneux, he wished to go to Hamel for a private visit with few followers.
